Elbow Pain

A person in a red shirt is holding their elbow with their other hand, showing signs of discomfort. The individual is wearing a black wristwatch. The background is blurred, focusing attention on the person and their elbow.

End Your Elbow Pain for Good: Effective Solutions for Golfer’s and Tennis Elbow

Elbow pain, whether it’s Golfer’s Elbow or Tennis Elbow, can significantly impact your ability to enjoy everyday activities and sports. At Imagine Performance Therapy in Fort Worth, TX, we specialize in treating elbow pain to help you recover swiftly and effectively.
When elbow pain starts to interfere with your life, it’s easy to assume it will just go away on its own. However, if the pain persists, it can become a significant issue affecting your daily life and activities.
Rest assured, you’re not alone. Elbow pain is a common concern among our patients at Imagine Performance Therapy. If you’re asking why your elbow pain is not improving, or why it’s getting worse, you’ve come to the right place.

Do You Find Yourself Asking, "Why Is This Happening To Me?" Or "Why Am I Still Experiencing Worsening Elbow Pain After Enduring It For Months?"

It’s common to believe that elbow pain will eventually subside on its own. However, many individuals continue to suffer from elbow pain, which only intensifies over time.

Can You Relate To This Scenario?

You seek medical advice from your doctor, only to be told to rest, take painkillers, and return if the condition doesn’t improve. After weeks, you might go back, only to receive another prescription for stronger medication and an elbow brace.

Has That Ever Happened To You?

It’s possible that you’re feeling confused because different people have given you conflicting advice. You might believe that you need to rest because moving exacerbates the pain or that you must perform specific exercises to alleviate it.
Navigating through this confusion can be challenging, and it’s understandable why many people procrastinate and delay making a decision about treating their elbow pain. Unfortunately, some individuals even resign themselves to living with elbow pain, believing that it’s just a part of life or that they must accept it as normal.

Is This How You Feel As Well?

If You’re Currently Experiencing Elbow Pain, Here Are Five Additional Reasons Why It May Be Persisting Longer Than It Should:
  1. You initially believed that the pain would dissipate on its own, but it persisted.
  2. Despite seeking medical advice, rest and painkillers didn’t alleviate the discomfort and only temporarily concealed the pain.
  3. Family or friends may have suggested that elbow pain is an inevitable part of aging, leading you to accept it as an unavoidable consequence.
  4. Previous attempts to address the issue with other healthcare professionals or physiotherapists may have been unsuccessful.
  5. You’ve attempted to alleviate the pain using elbow supports, but they provided no relief.
If any of these situations sound familiar, we’re here to assist you. We invite you to schedule a call with Devin Bailey-Truitt, PT, DPT at Imagine Performance Therapy in Fort Worth, TX to discuss potential solutions for your elbow pain.

"What Can I Do to Get Rid of My Elbow Pain Quickly?"

Here are three tips to help you get rid of elbow pain quickly:
  1. Decide to seek help: Resting and hoping that elbow pain will go away on its own is not an effective strategy. Instead, make a decision to seek help from a professional.
  2. Do the right exercises: A series of progressed exercises prescribed by a physiotherapist can help reduce pain and improve mobility.
  3. Avoid repetitive strain: Activities that require repetitive motions can exacerbate elbow pain. Strengthening and conditioning exercises tailored to your needs can help you recover faster.

Though I was introduced to dry needling elsewhere I see Devin at IPT on a regular basis for this. I have an L5 S1 herniated disc and dry needling always relieves the tightness and soreness that comes from this chronic condition. She is prompt and professional and thorough in every exam. Devin works well with a broad spectrum of patients-athletes to the elderly, young and old. I expect her practice to expand and successfully grow in the coming years.
